Species survive in nature by adapting to their specific habitats and exploiting theresources around them. For instance, some animals develop thick fur to keep warm in cold regions while others hone sharp eyes or running speed to catch prey or escape predators. Plants and animals interact in ecosystems, whereby they form parts of the food chain. These adaptations assist the species to obtain food, protect themselves and reproduce in the wild.
